So we have all waited patiently and now we finally got a new version of QuickBooks Point of Sale! Although there is not much difference between v10 and 2013 (yes, they changed the numbering scheme) there are a few cool features that I would like to point out for you.
In POS 2013, you will now see that the navigator screen has pretty much every option on it so you no longer have to search through the drop down menu’s to find what you are looking for.
You may recall in older versions of POS, you had to finish one task before moving onto the next. Kind of annoying if you ask me. Now, with POS 2013, you have the In Progress view that shows you and allows you to switch to any unfinished activities that you have pending.
In v10, Intuit introduced a new user interface that included these customizable blue buttons for a more touch screen friendly approach. Now in 2013, there are more options to make a blue button that again, just makes life easier.
Needless to say, this is the coolest feature. Now using your mobile device with Intuit GoPayment, you can sell your inventory off site and sync with POS to have all the information from the mobile sale carry through to the main POS in your store.
I don’t have many clients using QuickPick but I may now that they have improved it. Now you are able to color your groups and items as well as control whether QuickPick stays open or auto closes after you select an item. Also there is more detail within each item so you can be sure you are choosing the correct one.
